2 Mar 2008 - QUIZ NIGHT SUCCESS FOR BVTA TEAM!
A Quiz Night was held by the Friends of
Burwell Village Twinning Association were represented by a team of six, “The French Connection” – Sarah & Roger Logan, Trudi Lamb, Heather & Peter Heath and Jane Taylor. (Jane stepped in at the last moment to replace Sophie Rowell, who was unable to take part due to family commitments).
The team members were a little apprehensive, particularly when they saw the competition - A hall filled with serious and experienced ‘quizzers’!
However, they were doing reasonably well, even before playing their ‘Joker’ on the subject “Literature and Art”. The team achieved the maximum of 40 out of 40 points for this subject, and their final score put them into second place.
Due to the honesty of the team placed in first position – who believed they had been given too many points for one question – the BVTA team then came joint first. This led to a ‘sudden death’ quiz between the two teams. The other team answered the 6th question incorrectly, and finally the BVTA team was declared the winner!
Three members of the BVTA team also won raffle prizes!
It must have been their night - 29th February, Leap Year 2008!
